When people wonder why the world is in the mess that it is in, they should take a moment to read this chapter. God is so honest about His reactions to our obedience and to our disobedience. He promises the people an outpouring of His goodness on their lives if they will simply follow His plan for life by living inside the boundaries He has created. He promises protection, provision, and that His power will be upon them. God show His generosity to those who obey. On the other hand, God also shows His wrath towards those who disobey. He will work in stages to get His people's attention once again, but they will suffer mightily as a consequence for their sin. As a nation, we have taken the road of disobedience and watched God remove His hand of blessing from our homes, our schools, and our churches. The heartache, drama, and chaos that come from those choices are devastating physically, emotionally, and spiritually. We must remember God's amazing grace in the midst of our struggles. He loves us deeply and wants our best but cannot bless our sin. He wants a change of heart which produces a change of action. Christ-followers call this repentance. People complain about their problems and blame God for the hurts and heartaches, but God is not involved at all. He has simply lifted His hand of blessing from those lives consumed with sin. If, however, we repent, God will forgive us and restore us fully by grace.

Help me, Lord, to walk in obedience to Your plan knowing I will enjoy Your richest blessings and goodness. Help me to encourage others to follow You especially those who are suffering because of their sin.
