On this Resurrection Sunday, we remember that Jesus rose from the grave. In that moment, we see a power that is far greater than we have ever experienced on earth. Jesus defeated sin and death so that we could truly live. Sadly, many people are still living in defeat. They cannot stand against the sexual sin that rules the minds of our culture. God warned His children in this chapter about the negative consequences of misusing the gift that He provided. He also reminds them that these are the practices of the nations surrounding you. That does not mean you have to follow or live out those practices, but it does mean that people around you are doing so. As a child of God, I have a choice to make. Will I follow the world's standards and suffer the same negative consequences, or will I choose Jesus and live as He has commanded? That one answer can change the course of your life. How many young men and women have lamented over a "stupid" period in their lives when they indulged? They gave away something incredibly valuable just because everyone around them was doing so. God tells His people to flee, to run away from anything that even looks inappropriate. He even reminds them in other texts to stay away from "the appearance of evil." Your testimony is on the line. Our church's testimony is on the line. Your children's testimony is on the line. "...Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."

Help me, Lord, to stand against temptation and to fight sin in my life. Help me to "be strong and courageous" knowing that You are with me throughout this journey.
