Even with Joshua’s great success, God reminds him that there is still work to do.  He conquered large portions of the Promised Land, but much was still left for Joshua even in his old age.  We all need to be reminded regularly that if God has not taken us to heaven, He still has a powerful plan for our lives.  As we age, some seem to think they have reached a pinnacle or they believe they are no longer valuable in God’s kingdom work.  God never gives us any indication that either belief is sound.  God has numbered your days, and if you will walk by faith, He will continue to use you to that last day.  Our goal is to touch people with the love of God and the truth of His Word.  We can do that at a young age, at middle age, or even in our elder years; God is no respecter of persons, and He is no respecter of age.  If you look back throughout Scripture, you will find a leaning towards our older generations teaching our younger generations how to walk with Christ.  Sadly, we have lost much of that due to generations fissures that have broken the church and stopped ministry from truly happening.  Moses took Joshua under his wing and prepared him for an incredible work in the Promised Land.  If that is not still happening in our churches, then our younger generations are not as prepared as we need them to be.  Joshua was old, but God was not done with Him yet.  The same is true for you, as well.

Help me, Lord, to stay the course in this life and watch You work through me over the years.  Help me to find those of younger generations who are growing in their faith and teach them how to walk with You.
