Elihu believes God is completely transcendent meaning He is far away and unwilling to relate to us. He still works on the earth through blessings and curses, but he does not understand the possibility that a person could actually have a relationship with the Almighty. He says, "The Almighty is beyond our reach and exalted in power; in His justice and great righteousness, He does not oppress." Is God beyond our reach? When our Father sent His Son to die on the cross, we learned very quickly that He was never beyond our reach. Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob along with Moses would tell you that God loves to relate to His people and has amazing plans for each of their lives. Jesus is the reason for that incredible relationship. God saw Jesus on the cross before He ever created the earth; therefore, He could enjoy a relationship with the Old and New Testament saints. He planned to be right in the center of our lives and He wants that even today. If your god is only found in a building or at an event, then you are not serving Yahweh. The Bible tells us that Jesus literally moves in when we receive the free gift of salvation. We are His temple, His dwelling place. He is our God, and we are His people. Do you know Him like that? I suspect that Job was beginning to get it, but Elihu had not clue.

Help me, Lord, to enjoy a growing relationship with You. Help me to shine You in all that I do, because You live inside of me, and You are at work on my heart, mind, and soul.
