We all know the story of David and Goliath. It might be the most famous exchange in all of the Bible. Reading it again this morning, reminded me of just how much faith David had in Yahweh. He believed God was all-powerful and all-knowing, and that Goliath's presence was not a surprise. He was shocked when no one went to the battlefield to defend the name of the Almighty. He, on the other hand, had no question about God's ability to protect him and fight through him to defeat his enemies. When he went to the battlefield to confront the giant, his faith never wavered. He attacked Goliath with the strengths God gave him and defeated him quickly and easily. It amazes me that David never tried to act like another person, nor did he try to attack Goliath in the "normal" manner. He knew what he could do, and he trusted God to empower him in the battle. How many Goliaths have you faced in your life? Most likely, you are fighting the same battles that others are fighting. You have a choice! You can give into the fear that holds you back and stops you from experiencing success, or you can walk by faith and watch God do the impossible. Again, it is your choice! David made a choice that still impacts us today. How will you respond to that Goliath you are facing today?

Help me, Lord, to walk by faith and not by fear when it comes to the obstacles that I face. Help me to use the strengths that You have given me to defeat that Goliath I am fighting today.
