After David's horrible failure in the last chapter, his faith grew exponentially. He stopped worrying about his kingdom and started to focus on his son's. David knew God's plan for the temple, and he never tried to circumvent that; instead, he used his contacts to gather most of the material needed to build a house for God. David's heart and mind were, once again, in tune with the Almighty, and he was ready to support God's plan and not his own. What will it take to get you to that point in your own life? For David, it took the death of 70,000 of his countrymen to get his attention and refocus it back onto God's plan. What is God going to have to do to get your attention? You were made for His plan. You were literally created just as you are so that you can fulfill God's plan for your life. If God took all that time and energy to get us to that point, do you not think that He will do anything and everything possible to get our attention? We are heart-headed at times and unwilling to let go of our comfort, but God has a marvelous plan that you were made to fulfill. It will not always be easy, but it will always lead to the best in life for you and your family.

Help me, Lord, to walk faithfully in Your plan for my life. Help me to hear Your voice and see Your cues when I get away from that plan.
